Pentango
The Quintet Pentango, made up of musicians from Aosta Valley who come from different musical experiences, debuted in 2002 in the Festival "Aosta Classica" and it has performed as part of the "Saison Culturelle" of Aosta and in Italian important concert seasons. The group was founded with the intent to tackle the instrumental repertoire of Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla, but it has immediately enhanced its concert proposals with the collaboration of the singer Paola Mei in a concert devoted to love songs of Anglo-Saxon tradition.
In 2004 the meeting with the baritone Federico Longhi gave the quintet a chance to expand the repertoire of the original group repertoire to Argentina songs and to involve in its project also musicians like Stephen Seghedoni and Sante Palumbo. Since then, the partnership Pentango-Longhi has consolidated and established itself on the concert scene. Among the successes of the group, it must be indicated the recording of the CD "Vos sos el Tango" (2005) and the participation, at the opening concert season 2008-2009 of the Teatro Cilea in Reggio Calabria, in the show "The stars in the world of Tango".
